How 100 Days Started

Twelve years ago, I embarked on this transformative journey, crafting a poetic memoir tracing 100 days of healing after prostate surgery. From the quiet beauty of Asheville to the high Rockies around Taos, New Mexico, to the bustling streets of New York City, I penned one short prose poem each day for those 100 days, sharing them with my Facebook community.

Chance Encounter

While the initial self-publication on Amazon received a decent reception, a chance encounter with Andrea Watson of 3: A Taos Press brought new life to my labor of love.

After I shared my compilation of healing poems, she agreed to publish it, acknowledging its profound narrative of healing and personal transformation. Three years later, upon holding the first copy of 100 Days: Poems After Cancer in my hands this May, I was gobsmacked by its sheer aesthetic beauty beyond what I had ever anticipated.
